Rankings are one of several ways to judge a university, and they are most useful when you look at subject tables rather than a single headline number. When weighing the Sechenov Leaders program benefits, it helps to know how the institution behind the degree performs in national and international assessments. Below is an overview of Sechenov University’s published positions, grouped by ranking system.

At home: first place in Russian medical education

Sechenov University is regarded as the leading medical university in Russia. The RAEX subject ranking confirms this picture:

  • 1st in Medicine;
  • 1st in Pharmacy;
  • 3rd in Biology and Bioengineering;
  • 7th in Psychology;
  • 10th in Materials Technology.

For a student enrolling in General Medicine, the first two positions are the most relevant, since they describe the fields closest to the degree.

QS World University Rankings by Subject

In the QS subject tables, the university’s strongest result is in Dentistry, where it is placed in the 51–120 band. Pharmacy and Pharmacology falls in the 101–150 band. ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects

ShanghaiRanking’s subject lists use a different methodology with a strong focus on research output. Here Sechenov University appears in the 151–200 band for Dentistry and 301–400 for Public Health. Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy and Human Biological Sciences are each in the 401–500 band.

Broader assessments

The Moscow International University Ranking, known as Three University Missions, places the university in the 301–350 band. In the pilot ranking of BRICS universities, it holds 46th position.

How to read these numbers

No single table captures teaching quality, clinical exposure or student support. What the combined results show is consistent recognition across medical, pharmaceutical and life-science fields. For the Leaders track, reputation is only one advantage among several: small groups, curator support, extended practice and leadership training are what shape day-to-day learning. Applicants in Saudi Arabia may want to compare these results with the specific features of the program before deciding.

The program page lists all eight advantages of the track, the admissions section explains how to apply, and the contacts page offers direct lines to the university.
