Specialist Degree Program in General Medicine at Sechenov University
The program belongs to the field of Clinical Medicine, is delivered in a full-time, on-campus format, and has a duration of 6 years. Upon completion, graduates are awarded the qualification of General Practitioner (Medical Doctor).
During the first three years, students study humanities, natural sciences, and biomedical disciplines, building a strong scientific foundation and developing essential soft skills, including clinical thinking, communication, and teamwork.
From the fourth year onward, the curriculum is fully focused on professional medical disciplines. Students undertake in-depth studies in obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, internal medicine, infectious diseases, surgery, anesthesiology, emergency, disaster, and military medicine.
Future physicians learn to diagnose diseases, select optimal treatment strategies, manage patients in emergency situations, carry out preventive and rehabilitation measures, and perform various types of medical examinations, including forensic medical assessment.
The program is delivered at the N.V. Sklifosovsky Institute of Clinical Medicine, the largest medical faculty in Russia, comprising 49 departments. Students have access to 21 clinical training bases, ensuring continuous practical education and close interaction with real clinical practice.
